Day 131: Another Day, Another Heatwave

The next heatwave has kicked off! From now, I’ve just accepted that no matter how far north I go, it will always be hot. The climate here doesn’t respect latitude in the slightest. Half and Half and especially Lucky Charm were feeling it badly today.

Nothing much happened. The massive bubble from earlier has popped and the people are either ahead or behind enough that I almost didn’t see anyone.

Plenty of time for reflection on the journey and what will come after. I think once I am back home I’ll be relieved and happy for about a week and then be anxious to start planning the next adventure. This lifestyle is so contradictory. Especially now every day is hard with aches popping up in my body everywhere and a deep tiredness in my bones that cannot be solved with a zero or two. But in my head I’m already thinking of the next long adventure. Maybe something shorter like the Three Passes Trek in Nepal or the Kungsleden in Sweden? The Arizona Trail? The Florida Trail? Or go for the big boy Continental Divide Trail? Or leave hiking for what it is and go backpacking in Asia? Plenty of options, but I should keep these thoughts tabled as long as I’m here. Got to enjoy every one of these last steps, even as they weigh heavier the further I get.
