Day 41: Repairs

One could get lost in the amount of dough used to produce this gargantuan pancake

I’m starting to itch to get back on trail. Kennedy Meadows is not a nice place to spend multiple days. It’s hot, dry, loud and everything takes an eternity, from ordering food to doing laundry. The worst offender would have to be Triple Crown Outfitters, a gear store that had been talked about non-stop on trail. The place turned out to be a sad little shipping container which, to be fair, had a good selection of food. The issue was that only 4 people are allowed to go in at a time, causing giant queues outside. It blows my mind that I had to wait an hour just to buy some dehydrated meals. I also picked up my bear canister, microspikes and bear can from there.

The day was spent lazing about, doing chores and sewing the holes in my gear. Not much else to say. I was planning to get some blog posts online, but I’m too tired. More people I know are arriving though, so that’s nice. With them however, has come a horde of others, clogging up Grumpy’s bar and making everything feel crowded, even though there is so much open space. In the evening we got drunk with the group, which was the best thing we did that day.
