Hi! I’m Sigve, or Siggy. I like hiking, diving, meeting amazing, slightly crazy people and romanticizing type 2 fun experiences. A while ago I discovered I also very much like writing about these things and from there this blog was born.
My story began when I went on an exchange to Australia, a country I knew nothing about except that it was very far away, in my final year of university. During my time there, I learned how to go on multiday hikes, how (not) to surf, climb and wear clothes that haven’t been washed for the better part of a week. It was magical and signaled a radical shift in my life’s path. Out there in the wilderness, whether it was the hot red outback or the lush tropical coastal forests, I felt like I belonged, for what seemed like the first time in my life. And I knew that living like that, experiencing the beauty of nature and the occasional misery, was something I wanted to keep doing. Since then, I’ve combined my job with working remote from different countries, hiked the Pacific Crest Trail and most recently, moved to Ireland! Wanderingsiggy is my attempt to gather my ramblings/musings on thru hiking, digital nomading, expat life and silly adventures in general. Hopefully I pass along some useful information in the process!
Building this blog will be a very iterative process, so things will most likely change over time as I figure out where I want to take this. I have a massive bucket lists of adventures (the Continental Divide Trail is very much at the forefront of my mind), so there is plenty more to come.
Anyways, writing about yourself is kinda weird, so this is where I’ll end things. If you want to reach out please do! I promise to reply!
