Day 26: Acton

Short day today, not too much to report. It was hot, I tried to power through the miles and get to Acton, where there would be hot food and camping for us.

Fun surprise was to see Russell again, maybe for the last time, as he seems to be doing giant miles. Today he was aiming for 34.

Russel!

Eventually, we hitched into Acton. Our driver told us lots of movies and tv shows are made there, such as Westworld and Sons of Anarchy. The landscape here does fit with the scenery in Westworld. After the resupply, we met McLovin, someone we’d briefly seen before, when he ran bare-chested into our lunch spot, grabbed a handkerchief that was hanging there, and ran back off without saying a word. His driving license photo does look a lot like the famous original McLovin. I told him Coyote was going to leave soon and that I would have to find other friends. ‘Yeah you seem like a hard to like guy, so I think you’ll be alone for a long time.’
His sarcasm is on point, I like him.

I thought we’d catch up with Jesse at the RV resort in Acton, but I couldn’t find him. The place was littered with hikers and we only arrived after dark, so maybe I missed him. Instead, we hung out with Spice, Mouse, Stinger and Lucky Charm.

The sweet sounds of horrible train honking and passing traffic made for a suitable soundscape for sleeping.
