Day 4: Questionable Cookies

Another day in the desert, more views, more people. The water resupply at noon also had toilet cabins, a rare luxury here.

Today we also made it to the first milestone: 100km on the trail!

The first 100km is done!

We ate Brian’s cookies in the afternoon, probably not the best idea, as right after our snack break, the path changed from broad and flat, to slim and winding along the mountainside. For the first 2 hours, nothing happened, when all of a sudden colours changed, took on a deeper hue and our walking gait became more unstable. On every uphill part, my muscles felt periodically heavy.

Talking to people was impossible, ‘Yeah’ and ‘Ok’ being the only two words I was capable of uttering. Finally, we made it to the campsite, where we pitched tents together with Breezy, Update (previously Coco, renamed for her tendency to regularly update people verbally on her actions) and Emily. The view was, once again, amazing.
